With the graphical programs that are available on computers you can design and print very professional looking labels. If you have a colour printer you can become very adventurous. Even if you don’t have a colour printer you could take your design to a print shop and have a batch run off quite cheaply. A decorative border of hops and barley would look good on most labels. A picture of a rural scene might be ideal for many beers. Choose a typical English scene for an English ale or a German scene for a German lager.
