Owning a new or Used Saab is unlike owning any other car in the world. The company was originally a Swedish airplane company that was established in 1937 to build aircraft for the Swedish Air Force. After World War II there was decreased demand for planes, so the company started developing passenger cars. The designs reflected the background in aviation with their efficient aerodynamic styling; in fact, one of the Saab slogans is “Born From Jets.” The night panel was inspired by aircraft cockpit instruments. When the panel is activated, all the lights on the display are switched off to reduce annoying light sources. Only the speedometer remains lit.
